Domenico Tedesco: We have a number of options

Domenico Tedesco: We are really up for the game!

After the 4-1 home win in the DFB-Pokal last 16 against Fortuna Düsseldorf, the Royal Blues will travel to Munich with some new-found belief ahead of Saturday’s game (09/02, 18:30 CET). Head coach Domenico Tedesco knows how difficult the game will be, but believes there will be chances for his team to take something back with them from Bavaria.

Domenico Tedesco: We have a great chance of winning the game

The Royal Blues have taken seven points from their last three Bundesliga games. Schalke will be hoping to stretch their unbeaten run on Saturday (02/02, 18:30 CET) against Borussia Mönchengladbach. It won’t be easy though, as the visitors are currently sitting third in the table. Domenico Tedesco is still confident ahead of the game.

Convincing performance, but not without disappointments

Seldom this season have the Schalke fans’ feelings been toyed with as much as during the 2-2 draw on Friday (25.01) with Hertha BSC. Schalke led twice, but both times Hertha had an answer. A good game, but unfortunately three players were lost due to injury. As a result a lot of the reactions from the players is a bit deflated.

Mark Uth: We have to continue to work hard!

We started well against Wolfsburg and we want to continue in Berlin,” said head coach Domenico Tedesco before the game.

Daniel Caligiuri: The whole team won today's game, not me!

Domenico Tedesco was satisfied with the win, but also explained how he wasn’t happy with the first-half performance. VfL coach Bruno Labbadia felt that his side should have taken something from the game. Daniel Caligiuri, who scored twice, and Mark Uth, who returned from a long-term injury, also gave their thoughts.

Satisfied with the training camp in Benidorm

Getting match practice is more important than the result in a friendly, and Schalke got plenty of it in their 2-2 draw against KRC Genk on Friday (11th January). “70% of the training camp was focussed on attacking. The good thing is that you could see that, regardless of the result against Genk. The boys did really well,” said Domenico Tedesco.
