Naldo transfers to AS Monaco

With a heavy heart, FC Schalke 04 announce a departure from the club: Naldo has transferred to AS Monaco with immediate effect. The 36-year-old has signed a contract with the French side until the 30th June 2020. The clubs have reached a non-disclosure agreement regarding the terms of the transfer.

Naldo to miss Galatasaray game with an infection

Schalke are now missing vice-captain Naldo, as well as captain Ralf Fährmann (adductor injury) for the Champions League game in Istanbul with Galatasaray (24/10).

“We didn’t take our chances”

FC Schalke 04 suffered a 2-0 home defeat on Matchday 8 to Werder Bremen. Domenico Tedesco felt the Green-Whites deserved their victory and praised their efficient and clinical performance. Guido Burgstaller and Naldo were frustrated with the missed chances.

Naldo extends his contract with FC Schalke 04 until 30th June 2020

“I am not ready to finish my time here yet,” says Naldo as he made intentions clear following his achievements last season. The Brazilian is fully healthy and wants to continue to play football at the highest possible level at FC Schalke 04. The Royal Blues have extended the centre-back’s contract with the club for an additional year, meaning Naldo is under contract at Schalke until 30th June 2020.

“It was only a matter of time”

Domenico Tedesco was buzzing after the late winner in the RZD Arena. At the post-match press conference the head coach reflected on his first ever win in the Champions League. The draw tonight in the Veltins-Arena has provided plenty of talking points. Domenico Tedesco discussed the penalty decisions among other things in the press conference. “We’re a positive-thinking team”

Schalke didn’t imagine that their season would start like this. The Royal Blues followed up last weekend’s loss against Wolfsburg with another defeat; this time at home to Hertha Berlin. The team are remaining optimistic however, and are convinced that things will start to look up soon. There’s no reason to panic.

Ralf Fährmann remains Schalke captain, Naldo vice-captain

Schalke’s team captain will remain Ralf Fährmann. It was confirmed during the training camp in Mittersill that he would retain the armband, with Naldo his vice-captain. The Brazilian replaces the departed Leon Goretzka.
