FC Schalke 04 to head to Benidorm for winter training camp

FC Schalke 04 will be spending New Years’ Day in Benidorm. From 1st to 7th January 2018, Schalke will be heading to Benidorm for their winter training camp. While there, the Royal Blues will be undergoing serious preparations for the second half of the season.

Schalke reist erneut ins Trainingslager nach Benidorm

Head Coach Domenico Tedesco’s time will be staying at the Hotel Melia Villaitana during their time at the Costa Blanca.

Like during the winter break of last season, the fans are welcome to accompany the team on the trip. This time, it’s even possible to board the same flight as the team. On New Years’ Day, the team will be flying at 17:00 CEST from Düsseldorf airport and landing in Alicante from 19:30 CEST. The return flight is on Sunday 7th January at 19:40 CEST and lands in Düsseldorf at 22:20 CEST at a total cost of 200 Euros.

From there, the FC Schalke 04 fan club will be arranging transport to the friendly, Blue and White night and further activities. Those interested should apply before Friday 3rd November via e-mail to fanbelange@schalke04.de. First training session in Längenfeld – Schöpfi returns 'home'

The first training session during the training camp has been completed. FC Schalke 04 trained for just over 90 minutes on Friday evening (21/8) at SV Längenfeld’s pitch, which is close to the team hotel the Aqua Dome. The trip to Austria provides a return to Alessandro Schöpf’s former home, having spent five years at SV Längenfeld.

Hard work in Tirol: 28 players travel to Längenfeld

The Royal Blues are starting the second stage of preparations ahead of a demanding 2020/21 season. Head coach David Wagner’s side travel to Längenfeld on Friday (21/8). The squad will take part in their second and final training camp in Austria until 29th August, before the new season gets underway in the middle of September with the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
