EU LCS: Two wins in week 8

The battle for a place in the playoffs continues: in the eighth week of the EU LCS, two strong opponents and tough matches awaited the Schalke team and strategic coach André Guilhoto. The Knappen weren’t only victorious on Friday, they also and secured important points and won on Saturday.

Schalke faced Spanish eSports organisation Giants Gaming in the first game of week 8 of the European League of Legends Championship Series Spring Split. AD Carry Upset’s team returned to their old strength on 9th March and were victorious after a hard-fought battle in an exciting game. The spectators on the stream and in the Berlin studio of game producer Riot Games watched an unmissable game, which Schalke won with a strong team performance.

The match against the Spanish league’s second-best organisation, G2 eSports, followed on Saturday 10th March. There was plenty to play for in the game which took place shortly after 21:00 CET in the Berlin studio. The team had to assert their dominance against the team third in the league.

An initial trend became apparent in the game after almost 30 minutes. The Royal Blues were able to establish an important advantage through a great move and coach André Guilhoto’s team continued to perform impressively. S04 then made the decisive winning move almost 20 minutes later. The Schalke team owe a lot to strong individual performances and a great team performance for the win and head into the next week fifth in the league.

FC Schalke 04 head into week 9, the final week, in a battle for a place in the playoffs with everything to play for. The team play against H2K on Friday 16th March at around 19:00 CET and against Fnatic on Saturday 17th March at around 21:00 CET.
