Gilius remains a Royal Blue

The ink is dry! Jungler Erberk “Gilius” Demir will also be on the hunt for success with the League of Legends team from Schalke 04 in 2021. After mid-laner Felix “Abbedagge” Braun and coach Dylan Falco, Gilius is the next member of the Schalke LoL team to sign for the coming year.

An important cornerstone of the Miracle Run

Gilius has been playing for the Royal Blues since December 2019 for the second time, after the 23-year-old had already worn the blue and white dress from May to October 2016. In between he was active for Giants Gaming, Vitality and Besiktas Esports, among others. After returning to S04 at the end of last year, Gilius initially struggled. The German-Turk should find his way back to his top form in the Academy Team S04 Evolution. And he did. „I worked hard and regained my self-confidence“, explains Gilius, who made his comeback in the Schalke Pro team with consistently good performances.

The Miracle Run showed me: You can always make a comeback - no matter how bad the season started.

In the Summer Split he was part of the biggest comeback in the history of the LEC. With the #S04MiracleRun, which went viral on social networks, Gilius & Co. achieved something incredible. Although S04 only won one of the first eleven matches in the regular season of the LEC, the Royal Blues still reached the playoffs thanks to a subsequent winning streak and almost qualified for the World Championships in China. Gilius became one of the guarantors of success during the Miracle Run. The jungler, who only made his season debut on matchday eight, became an important cornerstone of the sensational victorious run with numerous top performances. “The Miracle Run showed me: You can always make a comeback – no matter how bad the season started,” says Gilius.

We have clear goals in mind and want to qualify for the 2021 World Championships in Shanghai.

Big goals for 2021

The LoL professional has big plans for the next year with Schalke. Football enthusiast Gilius, who already kept his fingers crossed for FC Schalke 04 as a child, wants to achieve great things with the Royal Blues. “I’m really looking forward to the next season. After Dylan’s and Abbedagge’s contract extensions, I knew I wanted to stay, too. We have clear goals in mind: to qualify for the World Championships in Shanghai in 2021 and possibly win LEC splits, ”says the top performer, indicating the route.
