PES Pro MeroMen: "We can beat anyone"

Hello Mero! The PES 2021 Season Update has been on the market for a few months now, the first games of the season in eFootball.Pro have been completed. What is your conclusion on the revised game from KONAMI?

MeroMen: For the COOP mode, which we play in eFootball.Pro, I definitely think it’s better than PES 2020. There are fewer „ping pong“ situations in which the ball bounces off different players several times and so random opportunities and dangers arise. This makes the game more skill-intensive and therefore better for professional matches.

How satisfied are you with the results on the first two match days of eFootball.Pro?

Overall, we can live with it. To get six of a possible twelve points against two very strong opponents is okay. Even if there was more to it.

In addition to EL_Matador and you, with Urma from Romania there is also an international newcomer in the PES team. How is he doing so far?

Outstanding! Urma is a great guy and a high class player. You can tell that our chemistry increases with every training session. It’s a lot of fun to play with him.

Interview with our PES newcomer Urma

In the past season you did not manage to earn a place in the top half of the table. Do you think you can get a stronger result this time around?

Absolutely. I am even firmly convinced that we will get a better result this season. We have improved significantly and are now playing a much better virtual football. In the regular training sessions with other PES professionals, we also find that we don’t need to hide from anyone. We can beat anyone!

Was there anything that didn’t go so well in the first two matches against Arsenal and Bayern Munich?

So far the only drawback was that we always left points in the first game. After that we were able to decide the second game for us under enormous pressure. That speaks for our mental strength. But now we also want to win both games. At best, we’ll start with Galatasaray Esports.

Galatasaray Esports is still waiting for the first win of the season. How do you rate your opponent?

We are preparing for a very unpleasant opponent. Galatasaray has only got one point so far and will certainly give everything to leave the lower region of the table. But we go into the match with confidence and resolve to take at least four points with us.

What will it take to get another sense of achievement?

It will be important that we dominate the game early on and not let the opponent set the pace. In addition, we cannot adapt to Galatasaray’s style of play. The team acts with a lot of high balls. If we manage to play our game, we have a good chance of scoring a lot of points.
