Point of contact for FIFA fans: Test your skills against the pros

Fans of only gaming are well taken care of at Schalke: the newly opened Gaming-Area in the LaOla-Club provides members of the eCommunity with a meeting point inside VELTINS-Arena. The Area allows fans to test their FIFA 18 skills against some of the best before Schalke home games.

The Gaming-Area opened its doors before the home game against SV Werder Bremen (1-2). Tim “Tim Latka” Schwartmann and Lukas “Idealz” Schmandt commemorated the opening with a friendly match inside the new facility. The duel between the two eSport professionals immediately attracted the attention of a host of fans as the Area quickly filled with avid spectators. Those who did not wish to join in the crowd could also follow the action from the screens around the LaOla-Club. After the friendly between the two Royal Blue professionals, fans got the chance to meet the stars, take photos and even share a few FIFA tips. The Gaming-Area will now be a meeting point for all FIFA fans to come and share their experiences right in the heart of the VELTINS-Arena.

“The Gaming-Area in Schalke gives us a unique opportunity to meet our fans,” explains Schwartmann. “I’m sure that we will put the new facility to good use and even host a few other eSports pros there. I’m already looking forward to the battles in our home ground.”

I’m looking forward to the games in our home ground.

Tim Reichert, Chief Gaming Officer at Schalke emphasised: “With our Gaming-Area we are once again highlighting the important social aspect of eSports. eSports is something that brings people together. The two consoles we have set up give our fans the opportunity to play both with and against each other before our home matches. It is also really important for us that our professionals meet and interact with our fans and so you will often see Tim and Lukas dropping by in the Gaming-Area.”
