Weekly review: Schalke 04 Esports on fire!

The royal blue teams had a furious week at the end of the first month of 2021. Our FIFA professionals qualified for the FIFAe Club World Cup, in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) there were wins against SK Gaming and G2 Esports and our PES 2021 team climbed in the eFootball.Pro with a win against Galatasaray Esports to second place. Our review of the most successful week of the year so far.

FIFA – Joe and Juli will compete in the FIFAe Club World Cup Final

The FIFAe Club World Cup is the official Club World Cup in FIFA 21. Hundreds of clubs from all over the world have tried to qualify for the grand final in the past few months, which will be played online from February 24th to 28th. One of the few teams that made it to the finals is Schalke 04 Esports!

After our two FIFA pros Juli and Joe made it through to the playoffs, they got the upper hand there too. As the winners of their conference, the two now take part in the final, in which they meet the 13 other conference winners of the playoffs. In addition to RBLZ Gaming, the RB Leipzig esports team, the Royal Blues are the only other qualifiers from Germany.

LoL – Gilius & Co. bring G2 to their knees

The Schalke LEC team around jungler Gilius and top laner BrokenBlade was also on fire. After starting with one win and two defeats in the Spring Split 2021, S04 delivered two absolute top performances in the second week of the season. First, the Royal Blues defeated SK Gaming in a German duel. For our Support Limit it was a successful first reunion with his former team.

But the second Schalke success last week caused even more sensation. Gilius & Co. defeated the defending champion G2 Esports, who had won all of the previous four season matches. With the two victories, the royal blue LoL professionals moved up to third place in the LEC table. Together with the MAD Lions, who also have three wins and two losses, S04 Esports ranks behind Rogue (5-0) and G2 Esports (4-1). On Friday (6 p.m.) there will be a top duel with the undefeated leader Rogue, Saturday (6 p.m.) the match against Misfits Gaming will follow.

For our Academy team there was one victory and one defeat in the Prime League. The lost match against PENTA 1860 was followed by a success against EURONICS Gaming. Just like the LEC team, our LoL talents have a record of 3-2 after the first five match days. Together with three other teams, S04 Evolution takes third place – behind mousesports (4-1) and the Unicorns of Love (4-1). The next opponents are ad hoc gaming (Tuesday, 8 p.m.) and SK Gaming Prime (Wednesday, 7 p.m.).

PES – In step with FC Barcelona at the top of the eFootball.Pro

Our PES 2021 team is also currently in top form. On the 3rd matchday of KONAMI’s eFootball.Pro, the Schalke PES pros won against Galatasaray Esports the maximum of six points (2-0/3-1). Previously, the blue-whites had taken three points each against Arsenal and defending champion Bayern Munich.

In the table of eFootball.Pro, S04 Esports is now second with twelve points. FC Barcelona, who won 3-1 and 4-1 against AS Monaco, only ranks ahead of the Royal Blues (+4) because of the better goal difference (+6). On February 13th, our PES players MeroMen, EL_Matador and Urma will continue the season against Monaco.
