Full fixture list for 2025/26 announced – Nürnberg at home on matchday 16

After the DFL announced on Friday morning (27/6) that FC Schalke 04 will kick off the 2. Bundesliga season at home against Hertha BSC on Friday, 1st August, they have now published the full fixture list for the 2025/26 season.

The Royal Blues’ first away game is against 1. FC Kaiserslautern, a week after the season opener against Hertha. The exact date and time for all fixtures aside from matchday 1 will be confirmed at a later date.

Schalke’s next three opponents are VfL Bochum (H), Dynamo Dresden (A) and Holstein Kiel (H). “Our start is going to be challenging,” said director of professional football Youri Mulder. “We are preparing ourselves day by day in the best possible way for the upcoming tasks so that we can start the new season strong. We are working with care and intensity. We have two very attractive home games in August with a Friday night clash to start against Hertha and then the visit of Bochum shortly afterwards.”

The meeting with friends 1. FC Nürnberg in the first half of the season will take place on matchday 16 (12th-14th December 2025) in Gelsenkirchen. That means that S04’s final away game of 2025/26 will be in Franconia (MD33, 8th-10th May 2026).

The season ends at home against Eintracht Braunschweig on matchday 34. That fixture will take place at 15:30 CEST on 17th May 2026, with all games on the final day kicking off at the same time as usual.

Schalke begin pre-season training

Around 3,000 fans attended FC Schalke 04’s first training session of the new season on Saturday (21/6). The players and coaching team took time after training to sign autographs and take photos with supporters, with new coach Miron Muslic and new signings Timo Becker and Soufiane El-Faouzi all in high demand.

Squad update ahead of first pre-season training session

Following the completion of internal performance and medical tests, FC Schalke 04 are set for their first training session under new head coach Miron Muslic on Saturday (21/6). The session will be open to the public and will begin at 10:45 CEST, with several members of the squad unable to take part.
