Kenan Karaman handed two-match ban

The DFB’s sports tribunal has handed Kenan Karaman a two-match ban for dangerous foul play. The Schalke captain will therefore miss the away game in Kaiserslautern (27/4) and the following match at home against Paderborn (2/5).

The 31-year-old cannot play any other league games for other Schalke sides until his suspension is over. Karaman was sent off after VAR intervention by referee Harm Osmers for a tackle on Jonas Meffert in the second minute of last Saturday’s (19/4) home game against Hamburger SV.

The club and player have accepted the ruling.
