His assist for the second goal in the 2-0 win at Rostock was Mehmet Can Aydin’s first goal contribution in his 13th game in professional football for the Royal Blues. The Schalke academy product was impressive at the Ostseestadion, not just because of his assist. The striker is now just one goal away from equaling the all-time goalscoring record in the 2. Bundesliga, set by Dieter Schatzschneider, who netted 153 times between 1978 and 1987.
