The former goalkeeper will undertake a trainee programme in sport management until the end of the 2025/26 season. This follows on from his sport management studies, which the 40-year-old completed in November 2024, during the final season of his playing career.

The Royal Blues began Tuesday (5/8) with an open training session for fans as part of their preparation for their trip to face the Red Devils. New signing Hasan Kurucay was in training with the rest of the team. The centre-half, who put pen to paper a week ago, is now in full training, having previously only been able to join parts of first-team training.

Nikola Katic sidelined with concussion – consultation held with DFB

Nikola Katic was diagnosed with a concussion following Friday evening’s match against Hertha BSC (01/08). As is standard in such cases, he spent the night under medical observation but was discharged on Saturday morning (02/08) and allowed to return home. Peter Remmert: The craziest way I’ve ever set up a goal

Friday night’s (1/8) opening game of the new 2. Bundesliga season against Hertha BSC could hardly have gone any better for youngster Peter Remmert. The striker was handed his first start for the club and assisted the opening goal in a 2-1 win. The only thing that was missing for the 20-year-old was a goal for himself at the sold-out VELTINS-Arena – and he actually missed a good chance for his maiden first-team goal just before the break.
