Full fixture list for 2025/26 announced – Nürnberg at home on matchday 16

After the DFL announced on Friday morning (27/6) that FC Schalke 04 will kick off the 2. Bundesliga season at home against Hertha BSC on Friday, 1st August, they have now published the full fixture list for the 2025/26 season.

FC Schalke 04 will kick off the new second division season with a home game against Hertha BSC on Friday, 1st August. Kick off at the VELTINS-Arena will be at 20:30 CEST.

Johannes Siebeking signs first professional contract

Schalke have retained the services of goalkeeping prospect Johannes Siebeking as the 19-year-old puts pen to paper on a deal running until 30th June 2029. The two-footed keeper will regularly train with the senior side, while also gaining match practice with the U23s. Siebeking completes the cohort of first-team goalkeepers alongside Loris Karius, Justin Heekeren and Luca Podlech, with the latter also having come through the Knappenschmiede. Former Schalke player Volkan Ünlü will oversee goalkeeper training from this summer, having been promoted from the Royal Blues’ U19 team.

S04 to play Panathinaikos and FC St. Gallen during training camp in Austria

During the club’s eight-day stay in Neustift im Stubaital in Austria, the Royal Blues will play Greek side Panathinaikos and Swiss club FC St. Gallen in friendlies.

DFB-Pokal: S04 to face Lok Leipzig on Sunday afternoon

The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the dates and timings for all 32 first-round matches in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday (25/6). FC Schalke 04 will face 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig on Sunday, 17th August at 15:30 CEST.

Two Schalke players to undergo operations

Kenan Karaman suffers knee injury

FC Schalke 04 will be without captain Kenan Karaman for the time being. The club’s medical department have diagnosed a meniscus injury in his left knee using an imaging procedure.

Schalke begin pre-season training

Around 3,000 fans attended FC Schalke 04’s first training session of the new season on Saturday (21/6). The players and coaching team took time after training to sign autographs and take photos with supporters, with new coach Miron Muslic and new signings Timo Becker and Soufiane El-Faouzi all in high demand.

‎Lino Tempelmann joins Eintracht Braunschweig on a permanent basis

After spending the last six months on loan at Eintracht Braunschweig, Lino Tempelmann has moved to the Lions on a permanent basis. FC Schalke 04 and Eintracht Braunschweig have agreed on a transfer fee and possible additional future payments. The details of the transfer will remain undisclosed.
