Kenan Karaman: We wanted to give something back to the fans

After missing two games through illness, Kenan Karaman came back into the side for the trip to face Hertha BSC on Saturday (8/3). He marked his return in some style, netting the winning goal from the spot to make it 2-1. After leading some exuberant celebrations with the 25,000 travelling Schalke fans following the full-time whistle at the Olympiastadion in Berlin, the forward expressed his delight for three hard-fought points.

25,000 Schalke fans in attendance for 2-1 win in Berlin

FC Schalke 04 won 2-1 away against Hertha BSC on Saturday afternoon (8/3) in front of 25,000 away fans. Tomas Kalas headed Schalke into the lead in the first half and Kenan Karaman got the winner from the spot after Fabian Reese had equalised for the hosts.

FC Schalke 04 travel to face Hertha BSC at 13:00 CET on Saturday (8/3) with over 10,000 fans of the Royal Blues also making the journey to the German capital, as was the case for the clash at the Olympiastadion last season as well. “There will be an unbelievable atmosphere,” said Kees van Wonderen. “We are very grateful that so many supporters are making the trip to offer their support. Our aim is to do all we can to ensure they go home happy come full-time.”
