Working hard together

Five defeats, bottom of the Bundesliga. After the unlucky defeat one and a half weeks ago to SC Freiburg, Schalke found themselves in a dismal situation. After the 2-0 win at Fortuna Düsseldorf (6/10), the third win in a row, Schalke are getting back on track. It was a long, tough week but the hard work has paid off for the Royal Blues.

FSV head coach, Sandro Schwarz, on the other hand, was annoyed that his team failed to take a point which he felt would have been deserved. “Nobody stood emotionless on the pitch”

Five games, five defeats. “Nobody had expected a start to the season like this,” says Christian Heidel. “We have lost a game, which we certainly shouldn’t have. It sounds a bit odd to say that this was our best game so far, despite having lost five in a row. But ultimately goals decide football games, and we didn't score any.”
