Simon Terodde: Anticipate those situations and be in the right place

It was the type of goal that Simon Terodde has scored so often in his career. In the 40th minute, Schalke’s number 9 found himself in the perfect position for any centre forward. Tobias Mohr whipped in a dangerous cross, which Terodde let run through to Kenan Karaman. FC Twente’s Gijs Smal couldn’t get the desired connection on his clearance and the ball fell into the path of the skipper, who smashed it past Lars Unnerstall from close range.

FC Schalke 04 drew 2-2 in their final pre-season friendly against FC Twente on Saturday (22/7). A total of 33,639 spectators were in attendance at the VELTINS-Arena, as Simon Terodde and Kenan Karaman scored for the Royal Blues. Twente were able to equalise just before the break, before a goalless second half.

5-0 win over Gornik Zabrze in Mittersill

FC Schalke 04 won 5-0 in their new third kit on Saturday (15/7) against Gornik Zabrze in Mittersill in front of 700 fans. Kenan Karaman (14’), Blendi Idrizi (32’), Bryan Lasme (67‘), Assan Ouédraogo (79’) and Soichiro Kozuki (89’) were on the scoresheet for the Royal Blues.

2-0 defeat against FC Copenhagen

Despite a dominant second-half performance in Kufstein on Tuesday evening (11/7), FC Schalke 04 were beaten 2-0 by reigning Danish champions FC Copenhagen, who scored both of their goals in the first half.

S04 to play Gornik Zabrze in Mittersill

FC Schalke 04 have scheduled a second pre-season friendly for during the training camp in Mittersill. The Royal Blues will face Gornik Zabrze on Saturday, 15th July at the Waldstadion in Mittersill. Their most famous player is Lukas Podolski, the 2014 World Cup winner with Germany.

Two goal contributions on debut for Bryan Lasme leave him hungry for more

Bryan Lasme impressed on his Schalke debut on Saturday away to SC Spelle-Venhaus (3-0). The attacker set up a goal and assisted one too in S04’s first pre-season friendly. “It was a good start. I’m happy and satisfied with how the game went,” said the French attacker, who featured 55 times for Arminia Bielefeld over the last two seasons in the top two divisions.

Polter, Lasme and Topp score in 3-0 friendly win over Spelle-Venhaus

FC Schalke 04 celebrated a 3-0 win in their first pre-season friendly on Saturday afternoon (1/7). Sebastian Polter (43’), new signing Bryan Lasme (56’) and Keke Topp (90’) got on the scoresheet for the Royal Blues in front of 3,646 spectators in Spelle.
