Two players returned to team training on Monday (17/3) for the first session during the current international break. Moussa Sylla has now recovered from a muscle fibre strain, while Emil Højlund was also back after his thigh injury.

Paul Seguin back in training after head injury against Münster

Last Friday’s home game against Preußen Münster (28/2) saw Paul Seguin come off with a quarter of an hour left to play. The midfielder suffered a head injury after colliding with former Royal Blue Florian Pick and required treatment for several minutes. The wound was promptly stitched up after the final whistle.

Zalazar back at Schalke – Karaman and Bulut return to training

Around a week after the conclusion of the South American U-20 Championship in Venezuela, Mauro Zalazar is back in Gelsenkirchen. The 19-year-old Uruguayan midfielder returned to training with Schalke’s first team on Tuesday morning (25/2) as preparations got underway for Friday’s home game against SC Preußen Münster.

Zaid Tchibara suffers ACL tear

Zaid Tchibara tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the closing stages of the match against Darmstadt on Sunday (23/2). The injury was confirmed following an MRI the day after the game.

Taylan Bulut signs a contract extension

Germany youth international Taylan Bulut has extended his contract until 30th June 2029. His existing deal was set to run until 2026. The 19-year-old, who is eligible to play for the club’s U19s until the end of the current season, has broken into the first team in 2024/25. The win over Karlsruher SC (16/2) was the right-back’s 19th game already for the first team.

Taylan Bulut returns to training following illness

Taylan Bulut was able to return to training on Tuesday (11/2) after having missed last weekend’s trip to Cologne due to illness. The right-back was able to complete parts of team training as the Royal Blues prepare to host Karlsruher SC on Sunday (16/2).

Barkok trains for the first time, pair working individually

Aymen Barkok, who joined the club from 1. FSV Mainz 05 on the final day of the winter transfer window, trained for the first time as a Schalke player on Tuesday (4/2). The 26-year-old wasn’t in full training however, with the midfielder suffering from a cold in recent days.

Aymen Barkok joins Schalke until the end of the season

FC Schalke 04 have signed midfielder Aymen Barkok on a deal until the end of the season. The 26-year-old arrives from 1. FSV Mainz 05 and will wear the number 25 shirt for the Royal Blues.

FC Schalke 04 agree contract extension with Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara

U19s attacker Zaid Amoussou-Tchibara has extended his contract until 30th June 2028. The 18-year-old trained with the first team and appeared in a friendly for the first time before the winter break and was also part of the squad for the winter training camp at the start of 2025.

Steve Noode moves on loan to SCR Altach

Defender Steve Noode has joined Austrian top-flight side SCR Altach on loan, initially until the end of the season. Should Altach avoid relegation in the Austrian Bundesliga, the deal will automatically extend by a further year. FC Schalke 04 would then have the option to terminate the loan move during the winter break of the 2025/26 season and recall Noode.

Striker Pape Meïssa Ba joins FC Schalke 04

FC Schalke 04 have signed attacker Pape Meïssa Ba from French second-division side Grenoble Foot. The 27-year-old Senegalese forward has scored 10 goals in 18 games so far this season and has put pen to paper on a deal valid until 30th June 2028 with the Royal Blues.
