REWE agree new partnership with FC Schalke 04
The Royal Blues are pleased to announce a new partnership with REWE. The retail company will have their logo displayed on the first-team training and warm-up clothing for the remainder of the 2021/22 season, after the two parties agreed to a sponsorship deal this week.
“Schalke 04 took a stand by ending their partnership with Gazprom, which was both a grave and necessary decision. As a business with a long history and deep roots in North Rhine-Westphalia, we wanted to do our part to ensure that this club, with its rich history, are able to head into the future with a new economic foundation,” said Peter Maly, COO of REWE.
Schalke CEO Dr. Bernd Schröder is grateful for the support, adding “We would like to say ‘thank you’ for the swift and pragmatic implementation of this partnership. It became clear very quickly in our discussions how important Schalke 04 are to football and to the region. The appeal of the club remains intact, which is a great sign for our members, fans, partners and employees. REWE’s support underlines the fact that choosing to position ourselves in a new direction in terms of our sponsoring was the right decision. We are looking forward to working together.”
We want to continue to create new sponsorship opportunities that fit to Schalke in the future, in order to continue to strengthen the club’s financial standing.
Schröder added that Schalke are creating new opportunities for the club through the separate sponsoring on the team’s training and warm-up clothing. “We are leaders in German football with this model.
