Guido Burgstaller: The equaliser was really frustrating

David Wagner and Alfred Schreuder both reflected on Saturday’s 1-1 draw in the VELTINS-Arena in the post-match press conference. Alongside both managers, schalke04.de has also summarised the thoughts of Guido Burgstaller and Bastian Oczipka.

Guido Burgstaller: We can build on this performance

Ahead of the DFB-Pokal quarterfinal match against Bayern München, there was no doubt that Guido Burgstaller would make an appearance. “Guido has really thrown himself into training over the last few days,” was what head coach David Wagner had to say about Burgstaller during a press conference the day prior to the match. The attacker captained his side during the DFB-Pokal clash against the defending record champions.

David Wagner: Disappointed with the result, but happy with the performance

A goal just before half time decided Tuesday’s cup tie between Schalke and Bayern. Both coaches reflected on the game afterwards in the press conference, while Guido Burgstaller and Alessandro Schöpf also gave their thoughts in the mixed zone.
