Kees van Wonderen: The boys showed character

On Sunday (30/3), SpVgg Greuther Fürth and S04 played out an entertaining and chaotic 3-3 draw. After the match, head coach Kees van Wonderen and his counterpart, Fürth’s Jan Siewert, spoke about the result. Kenan Karaman and Amin Younes also gave their opinions on the draw.

Amin Younes: We’re all massively relieved

A late goal in the 86th minute earned the Royal Blues all three points against Preußen Münster on Friday night (28/2). Following the 1-0 victory on matchday 24, head coaches Kees van Wonderen and Sascha Hildmann analysed the game at the post-match press conference. Goalscorer Pape Meïssa Ba and Amin Younes also gave their thoughts following the final whistle.

Bachmann and Younes return to team training

The Royal Blues began their new week of training on Tuesday morning (28/01) ahead of the home match against 1. FC Magdeburg (01/02). Two players were able to make partial returns.

Zalazar with Uruguay U20s – Younes to undergo minor operation

Mauro Zalazar is currently not with the Schalke squad. The midfielder is with Uruguay U20s as they prepare for the 2025 South American U-20 Championship.

Four players back in training along with three new faces

The new week of training began on Tuesday (20/8) with three new faces (Mauro Zalazar, Ilyes Hamache and Steve Noode) involved for the first time. The Royal Blues announced respective signings of the trio earlier in the day.

Amin Younes back in parts of team training

Due to the high temperatures in Gelsenkirchen – it’s expected to be over 30 degrees this afternoon – the Royal Blues began their preparations for Saturday’s DFB-Pokal game at VfR Aalen early on Monday morning (12/8). Amin Younes was able to complete parts of the session after only working individually recently following a knee strain.

There are currently four Schalke players that currently can’t take part in team training and are instead working on their own.

Amin Younes signs a contract with FC Schalke 04

Attacker Amin Younes, who has been training with Schalke’s reserves for a number of weeks, has signed a contract to become part of the first team with immediate effect. His deal is valid until 30th June 2026.
