Edin Džeko: We are keeping calm and concentrating on the next task at hand

Following two substitute appearances, against Kaiserslautern and in Bochum, Edin Džeko made his first start for the Royal Blues on Saturday (07/02) against Dynamo Dresden. After half-time, the striker was able to bag his second and third goals in Schalke colours. However, he was unable to be fully content come the final whistle.

Edin Džeko’s first appearance for Schalke was almost the perfect debut. “The only thing missing was the victory,” he explained after the final whistle. Džeko’s first goal in Royal Blue got the Knappen back in the game, before Kenan Karaman’s stoppage-time strike made it 2-2 against 1. FC Kaiserslautern.

Edin Džeko: From the very beginning, I only wanted Schalke

Schalke’s latest signing appeared at his first press conference shortly after it was announced that he had signed for the club on Thursday afternoon (22/1). The striker surprised everyone in attendance by greeting them with a friendly “Glück auf!” and explained that his friend Sead Kolasinac had told him that it was the traditional greeting at Schalke.
