Bosnia and Herzegovina missed out on direct qualification for next year’s World Cup in Canada, Mexico and the United States on Tuesday night (18/11). Sergej Barbarez’s team needed to win their final game in Group H against Austria to top Group H, but were held to a 1-1 draw in Vienna by the group leaders.

Nikola Katic sidelined with concussion – consultation held with DFB

Nikola Katic was diagnosed with a concussion following Friday evening’s match against Hertha BSC (01/08). As is standard in such cases, he spent the night under medical observation but was discharged on Saturday morning (02/08) and allowed to return home. He will not take part in training for the time being and will continue to be monitored by the club’s medical team. FC Schalke 04 wish Nikola a full and speedy recovery.
