5-5 draw sees Taylan Bulut and Germany U19s miss out on first EUROs win

In what was a spectacular match in Bucharest, Taylan Bulut and the Germany U19 national team missed out on three crucial points at the European Championship in Romania on Tuesday (17/06), despite holding a four-goal lead against England. At the final whistle in the Stadionul Arcul de Triumf, the scoreboard read an astonishing 5-5. Just like in the opening match against the Netherlands, Schalke’s right-back was named in the starting XI and once again played the full 90 minutes.

Defeat in opening U19 EURO match for Bulut and Germany

Taylan Bulut signs a contract extension

Germany youth international Taylan Bulut has extended his contract until 30th June 2029. His existing deal was set to run until 2026. The 19-year-old, who is eligible to play for the club’s U19s until the end of the current season, has broken into the first team in 2024/25. The win over Karlsruher SC (16/2) was the right-back’s 19th game already for the first team.

Taylan Bulut was able to return to training on Tuesday (11/2) after having missed last weekend’s trip to Cologne due to illness. The right-back was able to complete parts of team training as the Royal Blues prepare to host Karlsruher SC on Sunday (16/2).
