FC Schalke 04 head into round of 16 with 3-1 win
FC Schalke 04 have their name in the hat for the DFB-Pokal round of sixteen draw. In the second round, the Royal Blues showed why they were pre-game favourites with a 3-1 win. Franco di Santo and Burgstaller scored one goal each as well as an own goal from the hosts.
Three changes to the starting XI
There were three changes to the starting XI. Coke, Yevhen Konoplyanka and Nabil Bentaleb started in place of Daniel Caligiuri, Amine Harit and Leon Goretzka in the starting XI. Leon Goretzka did not feature at all in the squad due to picking up a slight muscle problem following the 2-0 win last Friday against Mainz.
Home game on Saturday, draw on Sunday
The next round of the DFB-Pokal will take place on the 19th and 20th December. The draw will occur on Sunday 29th October at 18:00 CEST. The day before, FC Schalke 04 take on VfL Wolfsburg in the Veltins Arena at 15:30 CEST.
