S04 in pot three for Champions League draw

On Thursday 30th August, the eight groups will be drawn for the 2018/19 Champions League season in the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco. Sporting directors Christian Heidel and Axel Schuster will attend the draw.

Champions-League-Pokal

FC Schalke 04 have been placed in the third of the four pots for the draw. There will be a team drawn from each pot into all of the eight groups. Teams from the same country cannot be placed in the same group, meaning that Schalke cannot draw Bayern München, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim or Borussia Dortmund.

Pot 1: Real Madrid (defending champions, Spain), Atletico Madrid (Europa League champions, Spain), Barcelona (Spain), Bayern München (Germany), Manchester City (England), Juventus (Italy), Paris Saint-Germain (France) and Lokomotiv Moscow (Russia).

Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund (Germany), FC Porto (Portugal), Manchester United (England), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Benfica (Portugal), Napoli (Italy), Tottenham Hotspur (England) and Roma (Italy).

Pot 3: Liverpool (England), FC Schalke 04 (Germany), Olympique Lyonnais (France), AS Monaco (France), Ajax Amsterdam (Netherlands), CSKA Moscow (Russia), PSV Eindhoven (Netherlands) and Valencia (Spain).

Pot 4: Viktoria Plzen (Czech Republic), Club Brugge (Belgium), Galatasaray (Turkey), Young Boys (Switzerland), Inter Milan (Italy), TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Germany), Red Star Belgrade (Serbia) and AEK Athens (Greece).
