Schalke’s DFB Pokal season opener versus Schweinfurt scheduled

The DFB announced the schedule for the first round ties in the DFB-Pokal this morning. The Knappen will face 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 on Friday 17th August at 20:45 in the Willy-Sachs-Stadion which holds around 15,000 fans.

FC Schweinfurt 05 qualified for the first round by winning the Bavarian Regional Cup (Landespokal). The team, who finished third last season in the fourth tier, won their cup final versus SpVgg Bayreuth.
