Positive Covid-19 test in the training camp

One member of FC Schalke 04’s training camp setup has tested positive for Covid-19. The affected person is currently self-isolating after the test result. Contact tracing is already underway.

Team doctor and hygiene officer Dr. Patrick Ingelfinger has contacted the local authorities in Austria regarding the next steps that need to be taken. Schalke will follow all rules and orders given to them by the authorities.

FC Schalke 04 will now conduct more tests to rule out any further cases. Monday’s (24/8) friendly against Würzburger Kickers has been cancelled.

Head of Sport Jochen Schneider commented: “We will do everything we are told to do by the authorities. The health and safety of everyone involved is the most important thing.”
