Earlier in the afternoon, Rabbi Matondo’s Wales had earned a point in Ireland. A 0-0 draw ensured that the Welsh remain undefeated in their Nations League campaign, with seven points from three matches in League B. The visitors played the final few minutes with a numerical advantage after Ireland’s James McClean received a second yellow card in the 83rd minute. Wales, for whom Matondo did not make an appearance, failed to make the advantage count, however. The Dragons face Bulgaria on matchday four on Wednesday (14/10).
