Dimitrios Grammozis: We’ve got good weather here in Gelsenkirchen too

At Berger Feld instead of Belek: Following the decision not to travel to the winter training camp in Turkey, FC Schalke 04 started their preparations for the season’s return on Sunday (02.01) in Gelsenkirchen. The following day, head coach Dimitrios Grammozis spoke to Schalke TV, on such subjects as the upcoming days ahead of the game against Holstein Kiel, and the current personnel situation.

“When you look at how the Corona pandemic is currently developing, it makes sense to stay here in Gelsenkirchen,” said Grammozis. “The temperature here is pretty mild at the moment and we’ve got good weather – everything we need to prepare well.”

The 43-year-old Grammozis praised the engagement of his team in the recent training sessions and was happy that every single player in his squad was giving their all to secure a place in the first competitive game of 2022, on January 16th against Holstein Kiel.
