S04 to host Eintracht Braunschweig on matchday 1

FC Schalke 04 will face Eintracht Braunschweig at the VELTINS-Arena on the opening matchday of the 2024/25 2. Bundesliga season, pitting new signings Ron-Thorben Hoffmann and Anton Donkor against their old club. The game will either be played on 3rd or 4th August.

“We’re pleased to have a home game first up for the first time in three years. That was what we really wanted,” said Marc Wilmots on behalf of the sporting management.

The second league game of the season will be away against friends 1. FC Nürnberg a week later (9th-11th August).

Elversberg at home on the final day

The first half of the season will end with an away game against SV Elversberg (20th-22nd December). The return fixture against the Saarland-based side will then be on the final matchday at the VELTINS-Arena. The match will be played on 18th May 2025 at 15:30 CEST.

Exact dates and times will be announced with a few weeks’ notice by the DFL. The only games that are currently scheduled are the season opener between 1. FC Köln and Hamburger SV on 2nd August (20:30 CEST) and all matchday 34 fixtures.

S04 begin pre-season with performance and medical tests

37 days after the conclusion of the 2023/2024 season, FC Schalke 04’s first team returned to start preparations for the new campaign. The players were split up into small groups on Monday (24/6) for performance tests at medicos.AufSchalke – presented by club partner Knappschaft Kliniken. The second round of the tests will take place on Tuesday (25/6).
