New year schedule confirmed: First public training session set for 3rd January 2026
FC Schalke 04 will kick off their preparations for a return to 2. Bundesliga action on Friday (2/1). The senior team will start the year with medical checks and performance tests to help determine their individual training plans.
The first public training session will take place on Saturday (3/1) and is scheduled to start at 10:45 CET. The second session will follow on Sunday morning (4/1) and fans will again be able to attend. All information is subject to change.
Several players have been granted an extended break to recover after their high workload in the first half of the season. Loris Karius, Nikola Katic, Hasan Kuruçay, Ron Schallenberg, Soufiane El-Faouzi, Moussa Sylla, Vitalie Becker and captain Kenan Karaman will all return to training with head coach Miron Muslic’s side on Tuesday (6/1).
FC Schalke 04 are preparing for their first 2. Bundesliga game of the new year, when they travel to sixth-placed Hertha BSC on Saturday (17/1). On Saturday (10/1), the Royal Blues will play a friendly against VfL Osnabrück, who are currently sixth in the 3. Liga. The match at the Stadion an der Bremer Brücke will kick off at 14:00 CET.
