Schalke kick off pre-season in front of 3,700 fans

FC Schalke 04’s 2026/27 preparations are officially underway. The first-team squad were back out on the pitch at Berger Feld on Sunday (5/7), with around 3,700 fans turning out for the Royal Blues’ first session of the summer. They watched Miron Muslic put the players through their paces and enjoyed plenty going on around the club grounds, before the day ended with the big highlight: a lengthy autograph session after training.

Back to work with performance tests and new faces

47 days after Schalke lifted the 2. Bundesliga trophy at the VELTINS-Arena, preparations for the upcoming season in the top flight are under way. The first-team squad will undergo individual performance and medical tests on Friday (3/7) and Saturday (4/7), presented by Knappschaft Kliniken.

FC Schalke 04 will kick off their preparations for a return to 2. Bundesliga action on Friday (2/1). The senior team will start the year with medical checks and performance tests to help determine their individual training plans.

Around 3,000 fans attended FC Schalke 04’s first training session of the new season on Saturday (21/6). The players and coaching team took time after training to sign autographs and take photos with supporters, with new coach Miron Muslic and new signings Timo Becker and Soufiane El-Faouzi all in high demand.

Squad update ahead of first pre-season training session

Following the completion of internal performance and medical tests, FC Schalke 04 are set for their first training session under new head coach Miron Muslic on Saturday (21/6). The session will be open to the public and will begin at 10:45 CEST, with several members of the squad unable to take part.

Dates for pre-season preparation scheduled

The FC Schalke 04 senior team will begin preparations ahead of the 2025/26 season on Thursday, 19th June. The first two days will consist of performance and medical tests at medicos.AufSchalke, presented by S04 partner Knappschaft Kliniken. The opening session on the training pitches will follow on Saturday, 21st June. Exact times and further information will be provided in due course.

After a break of just over a month since the end of the league season, Karel Geraerts welcomed his side back for their first training session ahead of the next campaign on Wednesday. Afterwards, S04’s head coach spoke about his squad, his aims for the season and questions around the captaincy.
