Matthias Kreutzer: Cut out the individual and tactical mistakes

Interim coach Matthias Kreutzer discussed the 3-1 defeat in Paderborn on Friday night (29/9) at the post-match press conference alongside SCP boss Lukas Kwasniok. Goalkeeper Michael Langer also gave his thoughts.

Matthias Kreutzer:

Tonight wasn’t good enough, Paderborn deserved the win. It will be difficult to pick up points in the second division if we don’t cut out the individual and tactical mistakes soon. We have to improve as soon as possible.

Lukas Kwasniok:

We deserved the victory when you look at the whole 90 minutes. Schalke started well, we were a bit nervous and couldn’t deal with their pressing early on, but put that behind us after around 15-20 minutes. Our first goal showed how effective it can be to just put crosses in when you have two big lads in the box. The decisive moment was the penalty that led to our second goal. Florent Muslija showed how confident he is right now by the way he hammered it home. The game was then wrapped up with the third goal.

Michael Langer:

It was a disappointing evening for us. Nobody was good enough. We wanted to make our own mark on the game and couldn’t do that. It’s clear to see that we are lacking some confidence at the moment. We need to work hard next week and put in a better performance against Hertha BSC.
