Training resumes ahead of trip to Hanover

The Royal Blues resumed training on Monday (14/10) ahead of Saturday’s game away at Hannover 96 (19/10). Ibrahima Cissé did not take part in today’s session.

The centre-back is away on international duty with Mali, and could make his senior debut for his country on Tuesday evening. Mali take on Guinea-Bissau as part of AFCON qualifying from 18:00 CEST.

Head coach Kees van Wonderen was able to welcome Justin Heekeren back to team training, with the goalkeeper having been sidelined recently after picking up an injury against Hertha BSC. U23s players Tristan Osmani and Seok-ju Hong also participated in Monday’s session.

Antwi-Adjei completes running session

Four players — Adrian Gantenbein, Tobias Mohr, Ilyes Hamache and Moussa Sylla — trained individually on Monday. The latter could return to team training on Tuesday. Hamache, meanwhile, was ill last week and was unable to train as a result. Mohr was rested during Saturday’s friendly against FC Aarau (2-2), while Christopher Antwi-Adjei has been able to resume running after recovering from a thigh injury.
