Janik Bachmann and Christopher Antwi-Adjei complete parts of team training

FC Schalke 04 are busy preparing for Saturday’s home game against Hamburger SV (19/4, 20:30 CEST). Ahead of the game against the current league leaders, head coach Kees van Wonderen was able to welcome two players back to the training pitch. Janik Bachmann, who had been sidelined with a calf issue recently, and Christopher Antwi-Adjei (thigh) were both able to complete parts of today’s team session.

The aim is to steadily integrate the duo back into team training, after they were able to partially train on Wednesday. The same process occurred last week with Ilyes Hamache, who made his comeback from an Achilles injury away in Regensburg. The attacker was brought on in the 73rd minute of against SSV Jahn.

The head coach will also be able to count on Adrian Gantenbein this weekend, after the Swiss defender was forced to miss the game in Regensburg through suspension.

Aris Bayindir (thigh), Loris Karius (calf), Luca Podlech (knee surgery) and Zaid Tchibara (ACL) all remain sidelined with injury. The quartet continue to train individually as they work their way back to full fitness.
