DFL announcement: All games suspended until 30th April

The decision was made during Tuesday morning’s general meeting between the German Football League (DFL) and all Bundesliga clubs, which took place via a video conference, that all matches would be suspended until at least 30th April due to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. This is in line with the recommendation of the DFL Presidium a week ago. The decision was announced by the CEO of the DFL, Christian Seifert.

In addition to the already postponed matches against Borussia Dortmund (14th March) and FC Augsburg (21st March), fixtures against Fortuna Düsseldorf (5th April), Werder Bremen (11th April), Union Berlin (18th April) and Bayer Leverkusen (25th April) will equally be unable to take place on the scheduled dates.

“We aim to finish the season by 30th June; that is still the case today. We want to restart the season in a way that makes that possible,” Seifert stated. Provisional concepts were drawn up for all 36 stadiums so that matches can be played with as little staff as possible.
