Dimitrios Grammozis: The last few minutes were typical of this season

After a 2-1 defeat to Hertha BSC, both head coaches plus Shkodran Mustafi spoke to the media.

Dimitrios Grammozis

Dimitrios Grammozis:

We started the game well. We managed to do what we had planned in several situations. We kept getting chances when we got in behind and played balls over the top. Amine Harit’s goal was really nice. We wanted to keep up our intensity and hard work in the second half and had one or two good chances through Klaas-Jan Huntelaar. After going 2-1 down, I could sense the team’s desire to take at least a point still. The attack where we hit the post twice was typical of this season. I feel sorry for the players because they put in a decent shift today.

Pal Dardai:

I think that was a deserved win for us. We had some good chances in the first half, such as Javairo Dilrosun’s. Even after going behind, we remained calm. We had chances to score a third goal on the break after going 2-1 up too. The lads worked hard and I can’t fault their commitment. Now we’ve got two more chances to secure survival.

Shkodran Mustafi:

We started well and deservedly took the lead in my opinion. We tried to remain compact and get the ball forward quickly once winning it back so that we could create chances. Unfortunately, we conceded yet another goal from a set piece and then Hertha put more pressure on us after that. We then hit the post twice right at the end. It was a game that could have gone either way – unluckily for us it went Hertha’s.
