When the players of FC Schalke 04 take to the pitch against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim on Easter Sunday (9/4, 19:30 CEST), they will be greeted by several thousand Royal Blue fans who have made the trip to Sinsheim to support their side.

Ralf Fährmann is glad to see this show of support from the fans, and is hoping to be able to have reason to celebrate with their “12th man” on Sunday. “It’s an extremely important game,” said the 34-year-old. “We’re facing a team that are also fighting to avoid the drop. We want to take maximum points off them.”

The goalkeeper added that the team are well prepared for Sunday’s game against TSG. The important thing will be to believe that they have what it takes to be successful. “Heart, passion and commitment are all things that we need to show out on the pitch once again. We need to give everything, for the full 90 minutes.”

The Royal Blues have a run of important games ahead of them, as they welcome Hertha BSC to the VELTINS-Arena the following Friday (14/4). “These next two games are key. However, we also know that safety won’t be guaranteed from just these two games. We still have eight matches left to play this season,” said Fährmann.

He added, “We don’t have much time left. Every single point will be extremely important. Wins will help us climb up the table and put us in a better position.”
