Huub Stevens: Bielefeld profited from our mistakes

After the 1-0 defeat to Arminia Bielefeld, Huub Stevens and Amine Harit spoke to the press, as well as visiting coach Uwe Neuhaus.

Huub Stevens

Huub Stevens:

Today was a proper relegation dogfight, with both teams fighting hard. Arminia were the lucky winners – they profited from our mistakes at the right moments. We lost an important player when Omar Mascarell went off injured. The last thing we’ll do is give up. We’ll continue to give our all in the coming weeks and hope that, with a bit of luck some of our injured players can come back.

Uwe Neuhaus:

It was an intense game, as you would expect, with both sides getting stuck in. There were a lot of big tackles and it was an even contest. We had a few more chances though and got our reward for a big performance. Schalke threw everything at us at the end, but thankfully we had enough to deal with that, so we’re really pleased.

Amine Harit:

We need to keep working to improve. It’s not a nice situation for any of us. We’re in this situation because we keep making mistakes. It hurts; we’d all rather be going home with three points. Huub Stevens told us before the game to keep fighting, even though we find ourselves in a very difficult situation. We need to keep giving it everything for our fans and the club.
