An impressive debut and continuing a remarkable streak
FC Schalke 04 celebrated extending an impressive victory over FC Augsburg and a new arrival celebrated a fantastic debut performance in the 3-2 Bundesliga win against FCA.

The record continues
The Royal Blues have continued their impressive record against FC Augsburg with their 3-2 victory on Sunday (3.11). Schalke have now played FCA eight times without losing (four wins, four draws), with the most recent defeat coming in December 2015. Even before that Schalke’s results against Augsburg mean that in 17 meetings between the two sides, the Royal Blues have nine wins, seven draws, and just one defeat. They also managed a win in the DFB-Pokal.
Good performance by McKennie
Weston McKennie played at centre-back following Salif Sané’s substitution and played a convincing role in an unfamiliar position. The American had 106 touches – the best individual record in the match and more than double the best Augsburg player’s stats (Philipp Max with 55). McKennie also boasted 90% pass accuracy and won 60% of his tackles.
A special debut
It was a debut to remember for Ozan Kabak. The summer signing started his first Bundesliga game for his new side, having previously started in Schalke’s 3-2 DFB-Pokal win against Arminia Bielefeld. In the 71st minute, the 19-year-old went on to score his first goal for Schalke as he headed home a Daniel Caligiuri free kick.
Two assists for Caligiuri
Daniel Caligiuri provided the assist for both Schalke equalisers with two free kicks. It is the first time since the 5-2 victory over 1. FC Nuremberg in November last year that the midfielder has made two assists in one game – against Nuremberg, there were even three. Caligiuri has now registered at least two assists in a game five times in his professional career, with three of those games in Schalke colours.
