Nassim Boujellab on his first goal and a shock moment

Sunday’s (13/12) game against Augsburg will live long in the memory of Nassim Boujellab. Partly due to the fact that the Schalke youth product scored his first Bundesliga goal after 22 matches, but mainly because of the injury suffered by his teammate Mark Uth.

“I was one of the first ones over to Mark. I knew straight away that something was wrong,” said Boujellab on the initial moments following Uth’s collision and fall. The midfielder spoke about an experience that he ‘will probably never forget.’ “I’m very pleased that Mark is doing well. That is the most important thing.”

The Moroccan international is frustrated that he and the team were unable to secure a victory for Uth. “That was our main aim,” said Boujellab, who gave the Royal Blues the lead in the 61st minute. “It was a very liberating feeling to put the ball in the net,” said the 21-year-old.

The mood at full time was a different one, said Boujellab. “The result was tough, above all because Augsburg were only playing with 10 men,” After the two missed points, Boujellab believes that things will go more to plan on Wednesday (16/12) against Freiburg.
