Omar Mascarell: We want to finally reward ourselves for our hard work

As a result of adductor pains, Omar Mascarell has been unable to help his team in recent Bundesliga matches. However, the Spaniard is fit once more and celebrated his return from injury in the Trofeo Antonio Puerta match against Sevilla. “It is a great feeling to be back,” said Mascarell.

The 26 year-old stressed that his therapy had gone well and his is now able to play without any pain. “I’m feeling good once and am ready to help the team,” explained the midfielder. “The coach will decide whether or not I will play in Hannover. I’m trying to offer myself as a useful asset in training.”

Mascarell has also been satisfied with the work of the new Royal Blues coach. “Every coach has a different strategy. Huub Stevens and his coaching team have placed a lot of value on the team working hard as well as having fun on the pitch,” reports the Spaniard. At the same time, it is important for the former Real Madrid midfielder to praise former Royal Blues head coach Domenico Tedesco for his hard work. “I think he did a good job during his time at Schalke.”

Mascarell believes Sunday’s match in Hannover is extremely important. “Currently, we are not in an ideal situation and we want to change this as soon as possible. If we are able to bring all our quality, we will win this match,” says Mascarell. “A victory will be important for us mentally. We want to finally reward ourselves for our hard work. I am convinced the team has enough quality to achieve this.“
