Schalke face Wolfsburg in opening fixture

The secret is out! Schalke will kick-start their 2018/19 Bundesliga season away to Wolfsburg. DFL revealed the full fixture schedule for the new season on Friday the 29th June. Schalke’s opening game will be played on either the 25th or 26th August.

Last season’s runners up will play their first home game the week after against Hertha. The first derby of the season will also be at home, planned for matchday 14 (7th – 9th December).

The Bundesliga schedule in its current form only outlines on which weekend/matchday the fixtures will be played. The exact dates and times will be confirmed over the course of the season.

Next season’s winter break starts after matchday 17, which is scheduled for the 21st to 23rd December. The second half of the season will begin almost a month later on the 18th January, and end on the 18th May 2019 with Stuttgart coming to the VELTINS-Arena.
