Suat Serdar banned for three matches

On Tuesday (19/2), the DFB’s sport tribunal gave Suat Serdar a three-match ban and fined him 10,000€ for his rough tackle on an opponent in Saturday’s game.

The Germany U21s international will subsequently miss the games against 1. FSV Mainz 05, Fortuna Düsseldorf and Werder Bremen. He will be available again for the home game against RB Leipzig on March 16th.

Serdar was sent off by referee Frank Willenborg in the 42nd minute against SC Freiburg on Saturday (16/2) after a high challenge on Mike Frantz.

Royal Blues lose 1-0 against Leipzig

FC Schalke 04 failed to take any points on Huub Stevens’ return to the dugout against RB Leipzig. Despite a strong performance against the third-placed team, the Royal Blues slipped to 1-0 defeat. Timo Werner scored the only goal in the 14th minute.

Huub Stevens: We will need to show the values that define Schalke

Huub Stevens and Mike Büskens will be on the bench for Saturday’s home game against RB Leipzig (16/03, 15:30 CET). The duo will coach the side for the rest of the season after Domenico Tedesco’s departure. The two will be supported by Matthias Kreutzer, a new team analyst and assistant coach, and Gerald Asamoah, who will be the team’s new team manager.
