The DFL announced further dates and kick-off times for Bundesliga matchdays 19-23 on Thursday (7/1). FC Schalke 04 will play on a Saturday for all of these fixtures, with two of these games coming at the primetime slot (18:30).

Three and a half years after his move from FC Schalke 04 to Arsenal, Sead Kolasinac is back in Gelsenkirchen, with the 27-year-old completing his first training session back with the Royal Blues on Tuesday. The defender was full of enthusiasm as he discussed the role played by Jochen Schneider, Norbert Elgert and Christian Gross in his decision to return to the club he loves.

FC Schalke 04 suffered a 3-0 loss in Berlin in Christian Gross’ first game in charge of the club. Matteo Guendouzi (36’), Jhon Cordoba (52’) and Krzysztof Piatek (80’) scored the goals for Hertha on Saturday night (2/1).

Christian Gross: We’re focusing on us

Schalke’s first Bundesliga game of the new calendar year on Saturday, 2 January away to Hertha BSC (18:30 CET) will also be Christian Gross’s first game as the new Royal Blue head coach.
