We’re really looking forward to the matches against Manchester City. We’ve been given very attractive opponents for ourselves and our fans to enjoy. We are underdogs to progress but won’t be nervous to face the Premier League champions. We will do everything we can to potentially cause an upset.

Sporting director Christian Heidel:

We are really looking forward to facing Manchester City and a reunion with Leroy Sané. His side will definitely be favourites to progress in the Champions League. They are a team full of world class players, brought together by coach Pep Guardiola. There are few tougher challenges in this competition.

Matija Nastasic:

I’m pleased we have drawn Manchester City. These will be two very special matches for me as I played for the ‘Cityzens’ before signing for FC Schalke 04. Consequently, I will get to meet a few familiar faces. We know how strong our opponents are but we will give it our best shot.

Naldo:

We will face very strong opponents, especially in attack. However, we have accepted the task at hand. I watched both Hoffenheim matches against Manchester City in the group stage and TSG played well. They were also able to create chances. If we play courageously and passionately, we could cause an upset against the English champions.
