DFB-Pokal: S04 to face Lok Leipzig on Sunday afternoon

The German Football Association (DFB) confirmed the dates and timings for all 32 first-round matches in the DFB-Pokal on Wednesday (25/6). FC Schalke 04 will face 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig on Sunday, 17th August at 15:30 CEST.

It will mark the first competitive meeting between the Royal Blues and Lok Leipzig. Schalke faced predecessor club VfB Leipzig four times across the cup (W1, L1) and the Bundesliga (W1, D1), most recently winning 1-0 away from home in the second round of the 1995/96 DFB-Pokal.

Owen Ansah, who last year became the first German to run under 10 seconds for the 100 metres (9.99 seconds), will conduct the draw together with DFB vice president Peter Frymuth. The draw will start at 17:15 CEST.
