DFB-Pokal: S04 go to TSV 1860 München on a Tuesday

On Wednesday the DFB set the dates for the second round matches of the DFB-Pokal. Schalke 04 will face TSV 1860 München on Tuesday, 26th October at 18:30 CEST.


The Lions came through a first round tie with Schalke’s fellow second tier side SV Darmstadt 98, winning 5-4 after a penalty shootout. The Royal Blues won 4-1 away at FC 08 Villingen.

Schalke and 1860 München have played each other six times in DFB-Pokal history. The Royal Blues have won four of those meetings while The Lions have come out on top twice. Last time they faced off in the cup was in the 2009/10 season in the last 16. A goal from Rafinha and two from Benedikt Höwedes saw us to a 3-0 victory.

S04 to face 1860 Munich in DFB-Pokal second round

The Royal Blues will travel to take on 1860 Munich in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. The draw was made on Sunday evening (29/08), with the second-round fixtures to take place on the 26th and 27th October. Exact dates and kick-off times are yet to be confirmed.

FC Schalke 04 have booked their place in the second round of the DFB-Pokal. On Sunday (8/8), Dimitrios Grammozis’ team won 4-1 away to fifth-tier FC 08 Villingen in front of 4,992 fans. Marius Bülter (2), Rodrigo Zalazar and Yaroslav Mikhailov scored the goals for the Royal Blues.
