DFB-Pokal: Schalke to face Hertha on 4th February

On Wednesday, 6th November, the DFB announced the timing of the DFB-Pokal round of 16 matches. FC Schalke 04 will face fellow Bundesliga side Hertha BSC at home in the VELTINS-Arena on Tuesday, 4th February. Kick-off is set for 20:45 CET.


The Berlin-based side advanced to the last 16 following a 5-1 win over VfB Eichstätt and a 5-4 win on penalties against Dynamo Dresden. Schalke defeated both SV Drochtersen/Assel (5-0) and Arminia Bielefeld (3-2) on their way into the round of 16.

FC Schalke 04 failed to reach the round of 16 in this season’s DFB-Pokal after losing 1-0 away to TSV 1860 München on Tuesday night (26/10). The only goal of the game was scored in the fifth minute by Stefan Lex in front of 15,000 fans at the sold out Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße. S04 played most of the second half with ten men, with Malick Thiaw sent off for a professional foul in the 48th minute.
