S04 to face SSV Ulm 1846 on 22nd December

The DFB scheduled the second round of the DFB-Pokal on Friday (13/11). FC Schalke 04 will face SSV Ulm 1846 on Tuesday, 22nd December at 18:30 CET.


The venue for the second-round clash is yet to be decided.

SSV Ulm 1846 put out Bundesliga 2 outfit FC Erzgebirge Aue in the first round 2-0, while the Royal Blues beat 1. FC Schweinfurt 05 4-1.

Schalke and Ulm have met once before in the DFB-Pokal, with S04 winning 2-0 in the first round of 1996/97. Martin Max and Thomas Linke got the goals.

FC Schalke 04 failed to reach the round of 16 in this season’s DFB-Pokal after losing 1-0 away to TSV 1860 München on Tuesday night (26/10). The only goal of the game was scored in the fifth minute by Stefan Lex in front of 15,000 fans at the sold out Stadion an der Grünwalder Straße. S04 played most of the second half with ten men, with Malick Thiaw sent off for a professional foul in the 48th minute.
